Winners of Dallastown Science and Engineering Fair Posted on Tuesday, February 02 @ 03:40:21 CST Topic: U In The News | A celebration of 50 years of science began as the Dallastown Area School District’s 50th Annual Science and Engineering Fair participants set up their displays for a day of judging.
Students, graduates, faculty, staff, administrators, and parents were entertained at this year’s science fair by co-founder Charles Landis as he talked about science in the Dallastown classroom 50 years ago.
An afternoon of awards showcased the following top award winners: Nicholas Wilson, a junior, was awarded Grand Champion for his project, Synthesis and Quantitative Analysis of Metal Polyacrylates, in the Senior High Division category of competition, and senior Ashley Reeder’s project of The Effect of AC and DC Electromagnetic Fields on S. cerevisiae Growth took Reserve Grand Champion honors in the division.
In the Junior High Division, Grand Champion honors were presented to 8th grader, Laurel Kovalchick, for her entry Violin Bows - Digital Fact or Fiction? and Kevin Moore, 9th grade, received the division Reserve Grand Champion Award for his entry Which Water Source has the Highest Endotoxin Level?
