A free clinic for new telescope owners

Posted on Wednesday, February 03 @ 08:33:04 CST
Topic: Healthy/Happy

The York County Astronomical Society will conduct a FREE New Telescope Clinic at the Observatory at John C. Rudy County Park, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.

Did you get a new telescope for Christmas or at some other time?  Experience has shown that the first night out with a new telescope can be daunting as you try to perform all the initial setup work required. Consequently, many new telescopes are used once or twice, then never again due to frustration.

To help get you started properly, the York County Astronomical Society is offering a New Telescope Clinic to help you set up your telescope the first time and learn how to use and enjoy it.

Bring your telescope and all the items that came with it (including batteries, if required, and the manual).

This is a FREE clinic and will be offered even if it is cloudy. Dress warmly and in layers. Call the YCAS Hotline at (717) 578–9109 or visit www.ycas.org.
